Katlise Olcher stands for Katherine, Lise – my two daughters, and Olga Chernisheva – my professional name as an opera singer.
Since my childhood I wanted 2 things in my life: to become an opera singer and to become a jeweler. Life drifted into direction if singing, I became an opera singer with international career. In Russia I became a soloist of Moscow Bolshoi Theater. After I moved to United States, I was singing with opera companies all over the country, and traveled all over the world. I also started making pearl jewelry, but my passion started taking over me so much, that at some point had to promise myself not to make jewelry at all while I am a professional opera singer.
After my second daughter was born I settled down, started teaching and …. My neighbour introduced me to the beauty of Baroque pearls. Now I just can’t stop making pearl jewelry.
I was happy to bring joy to the people with my art as a singer, I found I can make people happy by making jewelry for them.
